Easy way to make a bread bowl for soups or chili.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1 cup warm milk
- 4 cups flour (480g)
- 2 Tbsp (28g) soft unsalted butter
- 2 Tbsp sugar (optional)
- 1/2 Tsp salt
- 2 packets instant dry yeast packages
- 1 egg beaten
Directions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
- Add all ingredients except egg into baking pan in the order listed
- Set machine to DOUGH cycle; press START
- When completed, turn out dough into lightly floured surface and separate into 4 portions
- Form a disc from each ball about 1/2″ thick and place on a prepared baking sheet
- Proof the dough until they have doubled in size (~25-30 minutes)
- Remove the sheet and brush with beaten egg
- Bake at 375 F for 20-25 minutes until golden brown
- Remove and let cool
