Hamburger Buns

Easy hamburger buns with a bread machine.

Ingredients

Dough
  • 210mL (7/8 cup) milk
  • 50g or 1 large egg, beaten
  • 433g (3-1/3 cups) bread flour
  • 42g (3-1/2 Tbsp.) sugar
  • 5g (1 tsp.) salt
  • 57g (2 oz.) unsalted butter
  • 3g (1 tsp.) rapid rise yeast
Egg Glaze
  • 50g or 1 large egg, beaten
  • 15mL (1 Tbsp.) water
Topping for buns
  • White sesame, as needed

Directions

  1. Add ingredients to the pan in the order listed and select the DOUGH course
  2. When the DOUGH course completes, remove the dough from the baking pan and place it on a lightly floured board. Divide into 8 equal portions for 2-lb. breadmaker, or into 6 equal portions for 1-lb. breadmaker, and shape into a ball. Place each dough about 2-inches (5 cm) apart on a well-greased baking sheet.
  3. Brush with egg glaze and sprinkle white sesame. Allow to rise in a warm place until size doubles, about 40 minutes to an hour.
  4. Bake in an oven preheated at 375°F, 12 to 15 minutes.
