Pan Seared Filet Mignon

Quick way to get a perfect filet

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp high-temperature oil (avocado, grapeseed, etc.)
  • 4 medium filets
  • Kosher salt
  • Fresh ground black pepper
  • 4 Tbsp butter
  • 1 Tbsp rosemary

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400F. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat with oil. Season steak with salt and pepper (both sides). When oil is about to smoke, add steak. Cook until well seared, about 5 min, flip and add butter and rosemary. Baste with butter and cook another 3-5 minutes.
  2. Put meat into oven and cook to your preferred temperature.
  3. Remove meat from pan and rest for 5 minutes

Optional: Salt meat up to 48hrs in advance for additional flavor
